a new compound of melamine (MA) with p-phenylenedioxydiacetic acid (p-BDOAH2), ([(MAH )2 (p-BDOA2-).4H2O]n, 1), has been prepared and its structure was characterized by X-ray crystallography. In 1, the MA molecules are protonated, the adjacent MAH cations form cationic (MAH )n chains via pairs of N-H…N hydrogen bonds, and the chains connect to each other through p-BDOA2- anions as well as lattice water molecules via extensive hydrogen bonds to form a 3D structure. |
