| We describe here a homocoupling reaction with sodium arylsulfinate promoted by Cu(II). Symmetrical diaryl sulfone derivatives are obtained with high selectivity and reactivity via intermolecular desulfitation. The reported homocoupling reactions are very practical as it does not require the protection of inert gas, proceed under mild condition, the treatment is simplified and tolerant to many functional groups. The synthetic method can be applied to biarylsulfone synthesis with high efficiency. |
