Antifouling surfaces exhibit a promising future in wide applications. This paper reports the good antifouling performance of the polydopamine (rPDA) coatings prepared with a shaking-assisted method. The rPDA coatings were measured to have a contact angel lower than 15o, indicative of superhydrophilic surfaces. With bovine serum albumin (BSA) as model protein, and grampositive Staphylococcus aureus, and gram-negative Escherichia coli as model bacterias, it was found that the rPDA coatings could show good anti-adsorption of BSA and Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Overall, the preparation method is facile, and the obtained rPDA coatings can show good antifouling performances. |
