| Charles Alfred Coulson was a prominent researcher in the field of quantum chemistry and a leading member of what could be termed “The British School of Quantum Chemistry". He is known for the application ofSmolecular orbital theoryStoSchemical bonding, the electronic structures ofSmoleculesSand the concept of partialSvalency, and developed many mathematical techniques for solvingSchemicalSand physical problems. His book Valence were considered pedagogical masterpiece. Coulson certainly contributed a great deal to a much enhanced role of quantum chemistry in today’s chemistry. This article shows Charles A. Coulson"s life, his study experience and his contribution to quantum chemistry. |
