In recent years, in the field of medicine, nanometer-scale drug carriers have been received increasing attention. Their unique physicochemical properties, such as high surface area, tunable size and shape, and multifunctionality, have demonstrated significant advantages in drug delivery. The preparation methods of four common types of nanometer-scale drug carriers are introduced, mainly including liposomes, polymer nanoparticles, metal or metal chalcogenide nanoparticles, and carbon nanomaterials. The latest research findings of nanometer drug carriers in the fields of cancer treatment and antibacterial infection are summarized, and the future application fields and development trends of nanometer drug carriers are prospected. |
